SELAH Institute offers a rigorous high school program designed to equip students with skills that are useful both during their school years and after graduation. Academics are structured, individualized, and intentionally connected to real-world application. Students engage deeply with core subjects while learning to manage projects, communicate clearly, and take ownership of their work.
Our high school curriculum includes:
English Language Arts
Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
Foreign Language
Topics such as agriculture, religion, leadership, and the arts are intentionally woven into core academic projects, allowing students to engage with required content through areas of personal interest. This approach helps students tackle challenging material with greater motivation and relevance while maintaining academic rigor.
Students apply academic knowledge through structured, real-world projects:
Clearly defined goals and expectations
Standards-aligned outcomes
Teacher-guided and student-driven work
Focused on skills like planning, research, collaboration, and presentation
Students learn how to plan, research, problem-solve, and present their work- skills that matter well beyond high school. Foundational literacy skills, including grammar and handwriting, are reinforced throughout each project.
At SELAH, we use technology intentionally. Students spend time writing by hand, taking notes, and engaging in hands-on, tangible projects. Technology is integrated where it enhances learning, helping students build practical computer skills while keeping the focus on thinking, creating, and problem-solving. Our goal is to prepare students who are not just tech-literate, but also independent, engaged learners capable of working confidently with or without a screen.
Students will earn industry-recognized certifications relevant to agriculture, safety, and applied learning.
These include:
Youth- Certified Plant Professional
OSHA 10-Hour Certification
First Aid & CPR
Youth for the Quality Care of Animals
Tractor Safety
... and more!

Every student in our program is paired with a mentor. Students, families, and staff work together to find a mentor whose experience and interests align with the student’s goals. Mentors meet with students to provide guidance, support, and advice, helping students connect their classroom learning and projects to real-world experiences. Families are involved every step of the way, ensuring mentorship is purposeful and tailored to each student’s unique needs.
